Gujarat clinches North & West Zone CP Football Championship
Jaipur: Gujarat emerged as champions at the North & West Zone CP Football Championship organised by the Cerebral Palsy Sports Federation of India (CPSFI), with Rajasthan finishing as runners-up. The event was hosted by Dharav Public School in Jaipur.
The two-day championship brought together around 70 athletes from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Delhi. The event began with an opening ceremony and concluded with a closing ceremony and prize distribution.
Gujarat finished at the top of the competition, while Rajasthan secured the first runner-up position.

The championship also doubled up as selection trials for the CPSFI National CP Football Championship 2026. The performances of players during the tournament will help identify athletes for the national-level championship.
For the participating athletes, the tournament provided an opportunity to compete against players from different states and showcase their skills on a larger platform.
The organisers said the championship was aimed at promoting football among athletes with cerebral palsy and creating greater opportunities for them in competitive sport.
The event also highlighted the growing focus on inclusive sports, where athletes with disabilities can access structured competitions and opportunities to represent their states at national events.
