Neerja Modi School students bring mythology, music and dance to life at annual function
Jaipur: From the stories of Eklavya, Abhimanyu and Arjun to performances celebrating individuality and self-belief, students of Neerja Modi School presented a blend of Indian mythology and contemporary theatre at their Middle School Annual Function on Wednesday.
Held on Oct 28, the programme for the 2026-27 academic session was themed ‘Divinity to Destiny’ and saw the participation of around 750 students. The event opened with an award ceremony in which approximately 722 students were recognised for achievements in academics, sports, leadership and co-curricular activities.

The cultural programme began with ‘Ganesha’, followed by ‘Tridevi’, depicting themes of prosperity, strength and wisdom. A Mahabharata segment brought episodes from the lives of Eklavya, Abhimanyu and Arjun to the stage, highlighting courage, dedication and perseverance.
Students then moved from mythology to contemporary musical theatre with a segment inspired by Hairspray. Performances included Good Morning, Nicest Kids in Town, Velma and Intro, Run and Tell That and You Can’t Stop the Beat, celebrating confidence, individuality and acceptance.
The programme continued with The Greatest Showman, featuring Million Dreams, This Is Me and The Greatest Show. The performances encouraged students to embrace their uniqueness and pursue their aspirations.
A grand finale brought together the participating students, showcasing their teamwork and stage presence.
Through the theme ‘Divinity to Destiny’, the school sought to connect traditional values with contemporary aspirations, emphasising self-belief, resilience, inclusivity and excellence. The performances also gave students a platform to explore artistic expression beyond the classroom.
